Easter Camps...
...Came to an end today with what seemed to be a great camp for all involved. Reports suggest a tournament was held at the end and the following email was forwarded to me:
"...Stephen Jenkins won the competition in Cardiff today. In the final he met Ryan Owen and SJ came through. Final placings from the tournament were 1) Stephen Jenkins 2) Ryan Owen and 3) Nathan Thomas...."

Jersey GP - Day 3
Ryan Jenkins lifted another Grand Prix in sunny Jersey to add to his overall tally of points this season. Ryan beat his brother Steve 3-0 in the semi final and Matt Ware, at the same score, in the final.
With 3 majors left in London, Guildford & a Midlands GP it looks like Ryan's claiming back his Overall GP title.
Steve beat Craig Gascoinge in his QF match 3-0 to reach the semis. Ryan Owen also reached the QF stage losing close to number 3 seed Damien Nichols 2-3 (9-11 in the 5th). Nichols lost out to Ware 1-3 in the 2nd semi final.
The women's event was won by Alice Loveridge who beat both Emma Vickers and Emily Bates to win her prize fund and trophy.
The U21 singles was won by Matt Ware, again over Nichols 3-1, and Emma Vickers who had revenge on Alice in the final.
Jac Jenkins (against Nichols) and soffi Jenkins (Vickers and Loveridge) lost out in their U21 groups but Jac did receive the 'player of the tournament' award for his wins in getting to the two banded semi finals the previous day.
A fantastic time with great hospitality from Chris Band and his team in Jersey...

Jac Jenkins made the semi finals of both the band 5 & 6 with great wins along the way. The best win was against the more experienced Dave Gascoigne 3-0. His ranking will improve considerably.
Soffi Jenkins found it tough in bands 2 & 3 with matches against much higher ranked players but had a good day never less.

Jersey GP - Team Event
Day 1 saw the team event action with Ryan & Stephen Jenkins as number 1 seeds and Ryan Owen partner Derbyshire's Dave Arrowsmith as number 3 seeds.
Ryan & Steve made it to the final with a 3-0 win against Jakub Wankowicz and Craig Gascoigne of Jersey. In the other semi Ryan Owen took Damien Nichols to 5 sets but just missed out and Arrowsmith lost the same score to Matt Ware. So it was up to the doubles for them to save the match but that was lost again in the 5th end.
The final was won 3-0 by the Welsh players with Steve Jenkins winning deuce in the 5th against Ware and then Ryan beating Damien 3-0. The 3rd match, the doubles, was won 3-0 to finish the tie and for the Welsh boys to take the prize money.
Saturday sees the band categories being played and Sunday will have the Men's and Women's singles plus the U21 and Vetts.

Players Away at Camps
With Ryan Owen away training in Hungary and Charlotte, Megan & Angharad at Sheffield with the English squad, players are getting about.
Ryan trained with a Chinese coach and club in Budapest and really enjoyed his 4 days away. With daily updates, it was clear to see he made use of his time.
Meanwhile, Charlotte, Megan and Angharad spent 6 hours each day (with a morning run) challenging their friends from across the bridge.
