Result overturned


The ITTF have confirmed that the decision to disqualify Ryan Jenkins at the Austrian Open Pro Tour was wrong and have offered compensation to put it right.

The ITTF will pay for entry, hotel and flights to any Pro Tour of choice in the world. The result and ranking points of the win against Vanrossomme (Belgium) last month will also be reinstated

Your World on a Ball

Schools across the world are invited to decorate as many table tennis balls as they wish to reflect their countries history.

Once completed they can be sent to the German Table Tennis Association to display at the World Table Tennis Championships next March in Dortmund.

Schools can have as much fun as they wish on this project and each participate will receive a certificate to acknowledge entry. The 10 most beautiful balls in each category (5-9yrs, 10-14yrs and 15-18yrs) will get prizes.

To enter please ask your school to email - coaching@ttaw.co.uk and the relative forms will be sent back with all the information needed

Cancelled sessions @ SWNC


Due to Sport Wales National Centre working on a new floor in the Upper Hall, plus the Sport Wales Coach of the Year awards taking our hall space, the following dates are not available for training:

Thursday 3rd November
Tuesday 15th November [Sport Wales Coach of the Year Awards]
Wednesday 16th November [Sport Wales Coach of the Year Awards]
Monday 5th December [New Floor for Upper Hall]
Tuesday 6th December [New Floor for Upper Hall]

*Please note the following dates have been changed to the dance studio instead of the Upper Hall*

East Midlands 4*


Wales have selected the following players to attend the East Midlands 4* Junior on the 7/8 January 2012

Lewis Williams, Conor Edwards, Ryan Oyler, Beth Roberts, Nicole Hall & Sharlene Williams

Olympic Meeting


The BTTF selectors will hold a meeting on the 26th January at Stansted Airport to cut the long list to the short list

Naomi Owen and Charlotte Carey both sit on the long list at present

The BTTF chairman will make the announcements public in due course

ETTA Camps for Welsh Players

2 boys and 2 girls will be selected to train with England's IYS camps on 14-16 January (boys) and 28-30 January (girls)

Selections will be made in December

Two further camps will be held in April

German Youth Open - Dinklage


Megan Phillips, Chloe Thomas, Charlotte Carey & Nicole Hall are in Dinklage, near Bremen competing at the Youth Open Thursday-Sunday

The team event starts tomorrow with Wales facing France B, Romania B and group favorites Russia. The singles and doubles events start Saturday morning

Match: Wales vs England South West


England South West taught our young Welsh players a little lesson yesterday down in Okehampton.

Stefan Jeczalik, Jon Bisp, Matthew Francis, Thomas Heydon, Harry Langley, Jack Cole Soffi Jenkins & Charlotte Slye all tried their best but we were unable to stop the ever progressing region

All in all, a great chance for our players to shine

YDS session

Today in Cardiff, Simon Oyler took the new YDS [Youth Development Squad] in a 3 hour session.

Players were put through their paces in the Upper Hall of SWNC in a gruelling training schedule.

The next session will happen next month, as will a tournament in Stockton, to continue the good work with this group

He's back....

Ryan Owen had 10 years out of the International game but he's in Gdansk, Poland to see if he can get back to his level of 2001.

Owen, who last competed at the European Championships in Bremen, Germany, will play against Belgium, Turkey and Finland to help Wales stay in the Challenge division.

The man from Merthyr has a goal to get ranked inside the top 500 players in the world after this major event.

Next Week Squads

Due to the number of players away next week competing at the European Championships in Poland, there will be no squads on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

Simon Oyler will be with his COE group on Monday 5-7pm and he will look after players if they decide to attend that night
