Welsh Squad Training in Pontypridd

On Friday the 4th March, the Welsh squad moved their session to train at the Pontypridd table tennis academy. The venue is ideal for players to access as it's central, plus the facilities and equipment is of a very high standard. With 8 tables available plus a working weights gym, players have all they need to progress.

A new Welsh B squad session will start in Pontypridd soon to offer players just below the Cardiff groups a chance to get better training.

Belgium Super League

Playoffs

PW Diest claimed their spot into the Semi Finals of the Belgian Super League with another win against Vedrinamur in the playoffs. Diest won 5-2 with 2 wins in the singles for Ryan Jenkins and a doubles win to boot. Chen and Davy won 1 singles each also.

3 days later the team went to European Champions Villette Charleroi with an optimistic mind set. With Chen beating Danchenko and RJ just losing to number 1 Jung 9-11 in the 4th set things were tight. At 2-2 in the doubles there was a chance, but Villette sniffed it out and the only other win came with RJ beating Danchenko 3-1. Chen did have a good chance versus Gacina (HVR) at 2-2 and 5-3 but the world number 55 came good to make the 5-2 win clear enough in the end.

The 2 legs of the Semi Finals against Virton will take place at the end of March...
